When it comes to GREAT music I tend to have a keen sense for the subject. I credit my father for giving me his sense for music. Growing up I was listening to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, Otis Redding and Elvis. As I aged I would find my own taste in before mentioned as well as Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Metallica. But as I have matured over the years I have become more fond of other musical genres including Bluegrass. Mumford & Sons have been at the forefront with a revival in Southern Folk brand music and being from England it makes it more appreciative. Here are a few images and a Fusion video I produced.

Back in September 2010 a few friends and myself decided to try out the wonderful world of “Fusion” photography. Taking both still photography and video capture and combining the two mediums to form into a brilliant story. It was off to Downtown Los Angeles and some of its fantastic locations and within a few hours we had a masterpiece. Unfortunately we were unable to complete the finished process and the video stayed on the shelf for a few months (ok about 18 months). When a friend I met in Madrid, Spain Derrick Monks was able to help complete the editing process and bring the video to life. Thanks to all the photographers that worked on this project. Alfred Bertulfo, Carolyn Claire, Jason Zalameda and Thomas Pellicar for helping to capture this wonderful day.

I am starting a new series with my couples where I will be able to capture them candidly. The term “Life In A Moment” is for those couples who are not afraid of being captured “being themselves”. Nothing more, nothing less. It is similar to the “Beloved” series of photography I have been doing for the past few years but I feel this new series will be able to bring a whole new meaning to candid photography. Here is a preview with more to come soon…

As my first year in Madrid in winding down I thought I would share with you some of my favorite images from the past few weeks I was able to capture while getting lost in the City. Images include “Palacio Real de Madrid” (The Royal Palace of Madrid), the Plaza de Toros (Bull Fighting Ring) and a protest in Sol (center de ciudad de Madrid). Hope you enjoy!

There are many special events I have been honored to capture over the years. I have been blessed to say that when it comes to capturing children photography I feel I am still growing and maturing, like the children themselves. Being able to capture Esther’s First Communion in Madrid, Spain made me miss my own niece and her first communion which was happening around the same time but as my sister told me, “it’s good to know a great photographer was there to capture her special day.” God Bless you Esther & family and thank you for allowing me to capture her special day. Please enjoy some of these images and the slide show that follows.

Here is the finished fusion video by some of my great friends at Letterbox Films
Special Thanks:

Carolyn Claire, assistant photographer
Locations of Capture:

Church: St. Vincent du Paul – Huntington Beach
Reception: the Pacific Club – Newport Beach
I am very lucky and blessed to have some of the most awesome clients I could’ve ever asked for. After the Beloved Engagement session my great riend Anwar Torres and I worked on with Arianna & Diego back in June 2011 there was a question if we would be able to follow the couple to Costa Rica. It was an absolute NO BRAINER! I was totally honored to be one to capture the special event and I am very proud and blessed to have my “brother in arms” Anwar Torres there to work his magic as well. Pura Vida!

Talk about a love that is special in so many way. Guadalupe and Bryn’s story is one of passion and connection that proves two people from different parts of the world can truly love if their hearts are ready and in the right place. I was so blessed and honored to capture these two great lovers… Paz!

In case you were wondering, Guadalupe was laughing so much because Bryn was serenading her with a song. Vanilla Ice – Ice, Ice Baby. Bryn sang the ENTIRE song…

After taking the month of February off to recharge and focus on my schools volunteering programs I was ready to get back into the swing of things! My friend Remi was looking for a place to let off some steam and show everyone a good time. By organizing and promoting this event I was fortunate to capture one of the best locations in all of Madrid. The rooftop bar at the Hotel Melia in the Plaza Santa Ana area. Awesome views and a great night to remember…

Volunteering… something I never tire of. Working for a fantastic school which has students who are ready to become the leaders of the future and become volunteers for a few hours a week is such a joy to capture. I am very proud of all my students who participated in all programs and developments. Here are just a few examples of some of the work that was captured during this years program. Enjoy!
