8-14-2010 Kim & Gregg’s Maternity Session

Kim & Gregg were married in June 2009 and are on the verge of welcoming a baby girl to their family. Their story of love is one that has been a whirlwind romance but has the special ingredients that create longevity for many years to come. Congrats to you both in welcoming Preslie in October. Special thanks to Carol Cobb for assisting me in making this a successful session!

7-24-2010 KATIE & JASON – Just Married

There are just great days when you know you have captured what can only be described as magic. I have known Katie, through mutual friends, for more than 4 years. When she announced that she was getting married I could not have thought of a better man than Jason to start a new life together. Both are currently residing in Las Vegas, NV but come down to Orange County to visit family when time permits. When Katie & Jason were hitched in June they felt that they needed more images to capture their special day. I was honored capture them on a 5 hour session from Mission San Juan Capistrano to Laguna Beach, near the Montage Resort. Special Thanks to Kathleen Witkowski @ Mission San Juan Capistrano and to Katie Osborn, phenomenal photographer extraordinare, for assisting & capturing some great images.

Here is just a sample from that special day…

7-18-2010 ALIVE and KICKING

After a much unintended hiatus on the website front I have finally fixed the website issues. I have been website down for most the year and I was not totally satisfied with my other website provider. Now I am totally happy to present the new site – dannymendozaphoto.com hosted by Photobiz. Photobiz is an awesome online proofing site but also deals with FLASH websites. It was recommended by my good friend Melissa Diep on my trip to Carmel to capture Myka & Georges back in April and to my surprise I found it to be a better fit for my business plan. Awesome templates I update at anytime if the need should arise. With the typical client looking to observe my work I found no reason not to keep it simple, easy and uncomplicated for all to enjoy and admire. Thanks to Photobiz and Melissa for helping me get back on track. Enjoy!

7-17-2010 Scott Robert Lim Workshop

Being a professional it is always imperative to keep up to date with new techniques. Scott Robert Lim is considered one of the most innovative photographers in all of Southern California and his main focus is lighting. I could not have thought of a better way to commit some of my resources to honing more skills to offer incredible creative & artistic expressions to my clients. Below are two of my favorite images of model Hunter Lacroix. If you are a photographer looking to enhance your focus on lighting check out Scott Robert Lim’s workshops.

6-26-2010 BECKSTRAND MINI PEARLS BEACH CAPTURE

The Beckstrand Cancer Foundation has been very supportive of my career that I will always have a place in my heart and my calendar for whenever they need any images captured. It is such a rewarding feeling to know that these little angels are trying to bring awareness to help fight & cure cancer. The following images were captured in Laguna Beach near Las Brisas restaurant.

6-22-2010 KIM & MADDIE (MOMMY & ME SESSION)

Kimberly had been contemplating a beach session with her little princess Madilyn for the past year or so but never had the time for a session. The summer had just begun, weather was lightening up and my creativity was flowing. Capturing Kim & Maddie in Laguna Beach, near the Montage Resort made the afternoon just priceless. Thanks to Kim & Maddie for letting me capture a day in the life.

6-12-2010 Fusion project in the works

I am totally “all in” on this process that has been perfected by other greats in the industry and now I am lucky to have great friends & colleagues willing to donate their time and talents to an idea that will hopefully make a statement. Teaser image below!

6-21-2010 Masters Thesis Complete

The title says it all. I have completed one of the hardest papers in my life and have since now completed the Masters Program in English @ National University. NO MORE SCHOOL… for now (?)

6-4-2010 OCF•OCF in Big Bear

In April, I was at a crossroads in my creativity. I was thinking about giving up and going home. I didn’t know if I wanted to continue the road I was on and was looking for a sign. I was looking for source of inspiration and I didn’t know who would be able to help me. While attending a photography conference at Cypress Community College I was lucky to meet with other photographers to discuss the possibility of doing a Fusion project to help promote our talents. Needless to say ALL were on board and I have been blessed to call them all friends.

But I was also looking for a way to give back.

The cancer foundations have always been a great way to venture out and give back for whatever they need. I have been blessed to work with the good folks at the Beckstrand Foundation and was looking for another to lend my talents to. My friend Tamara Young put me in touch with her friend Tammy Charles of OCF-OCF and off we were. The ideas were flowing and our brains were filled with so much goodness to help promote a cause that is so worthwhile on so many fronts. Tamara and I discussed the idea of producing a video to help promote awareness in hopes to acquire more donations for their organization which helps families who are stricken with a disease that needs no mention. Being invited to their summer camp is something I will never forget as long as I live. Tamara and I captured some amazing images and video and I cannot wait to produce the edit with my friend Alfred Bertulfo who offered to lend his talents at editing.

6-4-2010 Rest In Peace John Wooden

One of the most influential men in sports, if not life, has just passed and it has been a very heartfelt day noticing so many different messages that are just outpouring from many different media outlets. With many great quotes of wisdom and ideas for life I have always had a special place in my life for coach. It is like as if my grandfather has passed.  I can only hope I live the remainder of my life with one quarter of the love this man had for his family. If I can do that I know I am a good man for my family as well as myself. Rest In Peace Coach… Here is an image of Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success.
